The NZRCA Accident/Incident Database is intended to be a definitive record of whitewater kayak and canoe incidents, published in order to raise awareness of risks among the recreational canoeing community. A number of incidents involving fatalities, injuries or ‘near misses’ are recorded. We welcome information on additional incidents (see About the Accident/Incident Database for policy and definitions).
