DESCRIPTION:Buller Festival is New Zealand’s premier whitewater sports event\, held every year in beautiful Murchison. Opening with the Awanui Film Awards on Friday 5th of March. Saturday the 6th we head to O’Sullivan’s Rapid for kayak slalom and RafterX. Our Saturday night party is on West Bank Road\, with epic local bands. SUMMARY:Tongariro River Recreational Release (Access 10)
DESCRIPTION:Genesis Energy will provide a recreational release of the Tongariro River section below Poutu dam & Intake. This section is known as Access 10 (A10) \nFlows of 30 cubic metres per second for 6 hours will be released from Poutu Intake into the Tongariro River between 9am and 3pm. \nLocation – Poutu Dam (Get-in)\, Kaimanawa Rd off Desert Rd (Map) \nStop the spread of freshwater pests! \n \nAll equipment that has come from any other fresh waterway (regardless of island) must be decontaminated using approved methods (see CheckCleanDry) before entering the river. \nPlease do not rely on the ‘dry’ method alone as the inside of kayaks take a very long time to dry out! \nCleaning solution is available at the entry and exit points during recreational releases.
