Mo ngā awa te aroha, he waiaroha - For the love of rivers

WWNZ believe that in Aotearoa New Zealand water is part of who we are and our rivers are no less than the veins of the earth. For all of us, the people who love to play in and voyage on these rivers, we must respect the water, the land and the people of the valleys through which our rivers flow.

To help us on this journey we have come up with the new Whitewater Code of Conduct, this document has been designed to give a set of guiding principles around how we to respect the water, the land, the people and the safety of each other that we hope will be adopted across Aotearoa New Zealand as the new standard.

Have we got it right? Is there something missing?

We are keen to hear your feedback on this as we think getting this piece right is key to its success.
